The Chief Minister IT Internship Program is a flagship initiative by the Government of Punjab aimed at enhancing the employability of fresh IT graduates through hands-on industry experience. IT Companies can register through the official program portal by submitting their company profile, internship requirements, and agreeing to the program’s terms and conditions.

To qualify as a host organization, companies must:
  • It must be registered with PSEB (Pakistan Software Export Board)/relevant authority
  • Have a physical office located in Punjab
  • Submit an undertaking to mentor and train interns in market-relevant IT skills

Interns are matched based on the IT Company’s requirements and the candidate’s qualifications, skills, and preferences. Host IT Companies will conduct interviews before final selection.

Yes, during the registration process, organizations can specify the number of interns they require. Final placements are subject to availability and program guidelines.

The intern stipend is paid directly to the interns. However, to support training and supervision, host organizations will receive an incentive of PKR 12,500 per intern per month for the full five-month internship period.

Yes, host IT Companies must submit a monthly performance evaluation report for each intern to ensure stipend disbursement and monitor intern progress.

Interns should be assigned productive and IT-relevant tasks as per their domains and skills.

Yes, but only in justifiable cases such as misconduct, violation of workplace policy, or prolonged absenteeism. Formal documentation and prior intimation to the program management team are required.

Yes, eligible organizations can reapply in subsequent phases of the program, subject to meeting the criteria and availability of interns.

The Chief Minister IT Internship Program, an initiative of the Government of Punjab, provides paid internships to fresh IT graduates in collaboration with leading companies. It bridges the gap between academics and industry by offering mentorship, real-world project exposure, and digital skill development, fostering youth employment and strengthening the province’s digital ecosystem.

  • Hold a valid CNIC with permanent address of the Punjab and Domicile of Punjab.
  • Have completed at least 16 years of education or a degree in any of the following or closely related disciplines o Computer Sciences, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Information Security, Artificial Intelligence, Multimedia, Telecom & Networking, Animation, Business Information Technology, Communication Systems & Networks, Computer & Information Systems, Computer Networking, Computer Science & Business, Computer Science & Information Technology, Data Science, Graphic Designing, Information Management, Information Systems, Information Technology Management, Mobile Computing & Information Systems, Multimedia Arts, Remote Sensing & Gis or other closely related
  • Have graduated within the last 4 years.
  • All genders are encouraged to apply.
  • Must be unemployed.

The internship duration is 5 months.

Yes, all selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of PKR 50,000, funded by the Government of Punjab.

To qualify for the full monthly stipend, interns must:
  • The stipend eligibility criteria are as follows:
    • Minimum 70% attendance (50% weightage)
    • Supervisor’s Performance Evaluation Report — 40% weightage (minimum required: 50%)
    • Interns’ Monthly Progress Report (Mandatory) (10% weightage)
  • Submit monthly progress reports.
  • Ensure supervisors submit evaluations electronically each month.
  • Interns are allowed up to two paid leave days per month. Additional absences will result in stipend deductions.

Internship will not be offered again, if the offer is not accepted till deadline.

As part of the internship program requirements, each candidate must successfully complete one Internationaly recognized Certification which can be obtained from Global IT Certification Project. Submission of the certification results is a mandatory for the disbursement of the final month’s stipend and the issuance of the internship completion certificate.
